Do you have a favorite author? Do you want to talk with other fans of that author? How do you go about finding them?
Many authors have their own websites where they either host or link to bulletin board systems where they interact with their readers. You can usually find this type of fan forum by using a search engine like Google or Dogpile and enter the author's name as the search term. Use the word "fan", "group", "club" or "fanclub" as an additional search term with the author's name.
Many fans have set up their own e-mail loops independent of the author over the years. The two main sites that host this type of fan forum are Topica and Yahoo! Groups. Once again, you can probably use the author's name as the search term.
